Corporate History
In 1964 Ted Hammond purchased Ernst Manufacturing Company from Marvin Ernst and shortened the name to Ermanco. Ernst Manufacturing was a job shop and built a variety of special devices and semi-standard conveyors. Ted Hammond specialized in conveyor and expanded the conveyor lines to include slat conveyors, wire mesh, cleated chain-driven etc., in addition to turn tables, transfers, and other devices required with conveyors.
In 1983, Leon Kirschner, along with other investors purchased Ermanco. Leon became the CEO, and Ermanco transformed its manufacturing process into producing conveyors for business partners. We were purchased in 1999 by SI Handling Systems; a publicly-held company located in Easton, Pennsylvania, and later formed Paragon Technologies.
In August of 2005, Paragon sold Ermanco to TGW Transportgerate forming TGW-ERMANCO.
Since the purchase in August 2005, we have seen dynamic growth and changes. Increased sales also initiated an increase within our workforce. Our building was adapted to accommodate the additional personnel, and we opened a new facility for our expanding product lines. In addition, we changed our traditional color from Ermanco blue to the TGW red, white & black. This subtle change made it more obvious to our customers that the new TGW-ERMANCO has much more to offer in the way of products and technology.
Our name changed to TGW Systems Inc. in 2008, and we changed…
One of the most important elements that remain the same, however, is the friendly, family-like atmosphere and the great people who work here. There is very little change in the staff. On average, our associates have worked for the company for over ten years.
In 2021 we were purchased by MHS Global and our name changed again to MHS Conveyor still providing conveyor products to our distributors.
